Delete your OpenEar account
You can delete your account yourself from inside the app, or ask us to delete it by email. Either way, deletion is permanent.
From the app
Open Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion is immediate and permanent. Any audio you downloaded to that device is removed at the same time.
Without the app
If you no longer have the app installed, email [email protected] with the subject “Delete my account”.
Send it from the email address your account is registered with — that address is how we identify the account, and we will not delete an account on a request from another address. We process the request within 30 days.
What is deleted
Your account, your email address, the record of which tours you have access to, and any audio you downloaded — when you delete from the app.
If you ask us by email, we delete your account on our side; anything already downloaded stays on your device until you remove the app or delete it yourself.
What is kept
A minimal transaction record (tour, date, amount, payment reference), because accounting and tax law require us to keep proof of sales. This record is stripped of personal data and is no longer linked to any identifiable person, and it is kept only as long as that law requires. We do not use it for anything else.
Your purchases
Deleting your account ends your access to the tours you bought. Purchases stay linked to the store account you made them with — your Apple ID or your Google account. If you create a new OpenEar account, Restore purchase can recover them, depending on the store's records.
Deleting your account does not trigger a refund. Refunds are handled by the store: Apple for App Store purchases, Google for Google Play purchases, under their own policies.
